This week I am posting a much earlier shot from my film ‘The Lift’. In this shot the main character is leaving for work, or what ever she does. As you saw from one of the other later shots I posted she doesn’t make it to where she was going.
Something I haven’t really talked about yet, and I am always asked, is when will it be finished. I am looking to complete this film in early 2010, actually the end of January. I am attempting to submit this film to Annecy which is apparently celebrating its 50th anniversary. If you are interested I took some pictures when I was there in 2003 (Annecy Animation Festival Pictures).
Enjoy!
So here is the latest render. I have finished the rough animation. Yay! It only took me 3 weeks! Argh way too long. Also the whole shot was initially spec-ed out to be about 6 seconds, the final version here is now at 8 seconds. It was moving way too fast. I still have one major thing I have to evaluate, is the pho pan that I did with the character here any good or should I do some sort of syncing thing in Blender?

I received this email the other day and wanted to post the answer so I don’t have to respond again, not that I mind, its just easier. What tools did you use to create “I Am”?I’ve been surveying tools to try to make a sensible choice for myself…Thanks!- Daniel J. I made “I Am” back in 2003 so some of what I did is a bit outdated. That said the my setup at the time was as follows: In one shot I would use most of what I just listed. The whole film was created in 1080p also known as fill HD. The resolution is 1080x 1920 and the frame rate was 24 fps using square pixels. The nice thing about 1080p other than it looking amazing, is it transfers t film really nice. Also what is nice is it converts really well into almost any other format, DVD, 720p, 1080i or web. |
